PAN - Sold

 

Pan is one of many drawings that Michael did for a possible sculpture project. (Others may be coming). He was working out not only the composition but the anatomy of the two figures. Pan falls into the category of Michael's strange characters. After the serene women and majestic cats, these fellows are just fun. As for Pan's face being separate from his head, Michael was playing with what he might do if it were cast in bronze. It would create a clever illusion as a three dimensional sculpture. Maybe it would be shiny inside. Who knows? He just hasn't gotten around to it yet!
